The next past cake I'm putting up is some cupcakes that I made for my room mate's birthday. She enjoys pumpkin flavored things, so I decided to make her some pumpkin spice cupcakes that look like little pumpkins. The design directions said to use green licorice, but since I couldn't find any, this is how they came out.
It's a whole pumpkin patch!
However, without the green licorice shoe strings, I was unable to make curling vines to connect them.
Here's a close up showing the sprinkles used to coat the first layer of frosting and then the decorative stripes and green icing top for the pumpkins.
